PA State USBC Cancels Annual Meeting

The Pennsylvania State USBC Board of Directors, on Saturday, April 25, 2020 voted to cancel the 2020 Annual Meeting Weekend scheduled for July 10-12, 2020 because of the COVID-19 public health pandemic and the continued uncertainty of large group events in the future.

Following USBC recommendations for cancelled Annual Meetings, all elections and legislation scheduled for this year’s cancelled 2020 Annual Meeting will be moved forward to the 2021 Annual meeting for delegate action. 

The Board Members whose term will expire July 31, 2020 will remain in their current position until the election is held at the 2021 Annual Meeting.

All award winners and honorees scheduled to be recognized at the 2020 PA State USBC Hall of Fame & Scholarship Awards Dinner will be invited to the 2021 event.  This includes the induction ceremony for the 2020 PA State USBC Hall of Fame Class and the Star of Tomorrow Scholarship Award winners.

The 2020 Hall of Fame Class and Star of Tomorrow Scholarship winners will be announced once those selections have been made. 

The 2021 Annual Meeting Weekend will be held July 9-11, 2021 at the Red Lion Hotel in Harrisburg.

PA State USBC State Tournaments Update

The Pennsylvania State USBC Board announced on April 13, 2020 the cancellation of all adult and youth tournaments through July 31, 2020 for the health and safety of all concerned due to COVID-19.

All refunds of entry fees will be mailed out on Friday, April 24th. 

The Pennsylvania State USBC Annual Meeting scheduled for July 10-12, 2020 has been postponed indefinitely.  We are awaiting guidance from USBC on options for our meeting.
 
Future tournament locations will be as follows:

  • Open Championship Tournament – 2021 York & 2022 Butler
    Women’s Championship Tournament – 2021 Altoona & 2022 Allentown
    Mixed Tournament – 2021 State College & 2022 Gr. Schuylkill
    Open Senior Tournament – 2020 Lycoming County & 2021 Monroe County
    Youth Open Tournament – 2021 Allentown & 2022 Pittsburgh
    State Pepsi/HDCP Singles Tournament – 2021 Leisure Lanes in Lancaster & 2022 Limerick Bowl in Limerick

The Pennsylvania State USBC Women’s Senior Championship Tournament beginning in 2021 will be held in conjunction with the Open Senior Tournament.  More details to come.

PA State USBC State Cancels Tournaments, Postpones Annual Meeting

The Pennsylvania State USBC Board has been closely monitoring the Covid-19 pandemic.  Our most important priorities when evaluating the situation is for the health and safety of our members, their families and our local communities.  With the uncertainty as to when it will be safe to return to normal activities, it is with great disappointment to announce the cancellation of all adult and youth tournaments through July 31, 2020.

The following tournaments have been cancelled:

Open Championship Tournament
Women’s Championship Tournament
Mixed Tournament
Women’s Senior Tournament
Youth Open Tournament
District Pepsi/HDCP Singles Tournament
State Pepsi/HDCP Singles Tournament

All entry fees received will be refunded in the coming weeks.  Please be patient while we process the return of the entry fees, they will be done as quickly as possible.

The Pennsylvania State USBC Annual Meeting scheduled for July 10-12, 2020 has been postponed indefinitely.  We are seeking advice from USBC on guidance and options if an annual meeting would be required to be held.

PA State USBC Postpones Events

We are closely monitoring the COVID-19 situation in Pennsylvania. We will make a decision in the middle of April in regards to updating our current schedule of events. We appreciate your patience and understanding during these uncertain times. For the current schedules please visit tournament pages on this site. We pray for everyone’s safety.

The Pennsylvania State USBC is postponing the following events due to COVID-19 safety concerns.

Open Championships – Postponed to May 1 (May1  thru June 21)

Women’s Championships – Postponed to May 1 thru June 14)

Youth Open – Postponed to May 30 thru June 14

District Pepsi/HDCP Tournaments – Postponed till May

Pepsi/HDCP State Finals – Postponed to June 20/21

The State Board made this difficult decision out of concern for the health and safety of our members, their families and local communities.

The 2020 Pennsylvania Open Championships and 2020 Pennsylvania Women’s Championships are postponed until May 1, 2020. All teams registered will have the option to reschedule for new added dates or current available dates. Tournament Directors will contact team captains directly with more details.

The 2020 Pennsylvania Youth Open has been rescheduled for May 30 through June 14. All teams registered will have the option to reschedule for the new dates. The Tournament Director will contact team captains directly with more details.

The 2020 Pennsylvania State Youth Pepsi/District Tournaments are being rescheduled for the 1st three weekends in May. The schedule when completed, will be updated on our website and District Tournament Directors will be contacting their youth league supervisors in their area. The Pepsi/HDCP State Finals have been rescheduled for June 20/21.

We realize our members will have many questions related to these changes. We are working on additional communications and guidance for our tournament participants. We appreciate everyone’s patience and are working hard to provide more information as soon as possible for there are many items to be coordinated.
